At 51 years of age, Shaquille O’Neal has accomplished various side quests that an average person cannot do. The four-time champion is now an entrepreneur, restaurant chain owner, car wash owner, disc jockey, and whatnot. However, have you ever wondered why he is called “Dr.” Shaquille O’Neal? Well, the mystery was revealed by the Los Angeles Lakers legend himself. In a podcast with a unique YouTuber Bobbi Althoff, Big Diesel elaborated on his career alternative, although it “would be illegal”. 

Speaking of Bobbi Althoff, the 26-year-old’s claim to fame is not just her unique way of interviewing celebrities. Althoff’s viewership hit a hike after her hilarious podcast with one of the most famous rappers in the world went viral.

Althoff’s path to becoming a successful podcaster is a mystery. With just 13 videos in nearly two years, the 26-year-old already has two million followers on her Instagram. A few big names she interviewed are Tyga, J Balvin, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, and rapper Offset. However, her interview with $250 million Drake gave her the maximum fame. 

Now with Shaq on board, Althoff’s followers and subscribers will yet again get another hike. The young YouTuber is known for having awkward conversations with celebrities. Sadly, that did not work with Shaq, as he almost led Althoff to break her character. 

Big Diesel introduced himself as “Dr. Shaquille O’Neal”. This led to a question from Althoff, “What type of medicine do you practice?”. Shaq replied, “No, not that type of doctor”. 

“I’m not a medical doctor… I’m a love doctor,” Shaq hilariously added as he rolled his tongue out. Revealing he has a minor in psychology, the LA legend said he “can be a therapist” if he wanted to. However, he added, “They don’t pay me, cause if they pay me that would be illegal”. It’s true, love doctors don’t get paid! 

Although the above was just a skit for the podcast, the humor turned out to be great. Many fans appreciated it in the comments section. 

Does Shaq really have a doctorate? 

It’s highly believed that Big Diesel has a doctorate. However, reports have revealed that he does not. Shaq does not have a Ph.D. degree, but an Ed. D degree from Parry University which is similar to a doctorate.

Shaq earned this degree after his retirement by completing 16 courses with an impressive 3.81 CGPA in Human Resource Development. The 51-year-old also revealed he did it only for his mother, who always stressed the importance of academics.
