The New England Patriots have finally put an end to their disappointing regular season run today. The team tried their best to end the season on a good note, but the New York Jets handed them a 14-point loss. The fans are indeed disappointed, but England’s defensive tackle Christian Barmore seems to be the most affected. However, he has not lost hope yet. Right after the loss, Barmore decided to use Kobe Bryant‘s iconic interview from 2003, to tease a comeback in the next season.

Barmore was not in his best version this year. He was brave enough to accept that, though. He shared on X, “This year I meet the most broken version of me, but also the strongest”. Along with this, the 24-year-old added a clip of the Los Angeles Lakers legend’s interview. Bryant was in a similar phase back in 2003 after he lost the Western Conference Semi-Finals to the San Antonio Spurs.

Despite averaging an impeccable 32.3 points per game in that series, Bryant and the Lakers fell short 2-4 to the Spurs. Right after the game 6 loss, Bryant shared in the interview, “We have to regroup. Like I said, next season starts right now and, you know, come back next season and we play”. The ‘Black Mamba’ was questioned, “How much harder are you willing to work in this off-season now to get back to the championship?” A devastated Bryant replied, “I’ll push myself to exhaustion”. Bryant did find success, but only in the later years. Barmore is willing to do the same.

The Patriots are left with no choice but to rebuild. However, the good part is they will have Barmore for the longer run as they find him to be “dominant”. Anyhow, the upcoming season will be experimental for both the defensive lineman and the Patriots for a few reasons. The youngster is yet to sign his extension with the team. The team does have a lot of trust in him.

They have kept him as the centerpiece after all. But if things do not go their way, there will be a blockbuster trade. The Patriots last won the Super Bowl five years back in 2019 when Aaron Rodgers was still on the team. The long overdue has not yet ended and Barmore is being trusted to win it all.
