Controversy can’t seem to leave the side of Jada Pinkett Smith. Days after Jada revealed that she and Will Smith had been separated for years, she talked about one of the biggest regrets of her life after being prodded by two NBA legends. The 52-year-old actress was a close friend of music icon Tupac Shakur but the two of them went through a troubled phase before the rapper’s untimely death.
One of the most influential rappers of all time, Tupac Shakur used music as his outlet to express his concerns about society. Tupac was always open about his thoughts. Even though Jada considered the two to be soulmates, they never had anything more than friendship.

In a recent episode of ALL THE SMOKE podcast hosted by NBA legends Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, the special guest was Jada Pinkett Smith. During the show, Barnes asked Jada why she and Tupac were not on speaking terms during the last year of his life.
Jada took some time to remember everything from back in the day. She then said that at the time, Tupac was “off track“. Even though Jada and Tupac often had arguments with each other, this led to a very intense one.
She said, “I was hurt, I was pissed. I really kinda dug my heels into the ground, I was just like, he went too far so he is gonna have to call me.” Jada, with her pride in her hand, decided not to talk to him unless he called her first. Tupac was the same way, and hence, because of that, they did not talk to each other for a year.
Matt Barnes also asked what she learned from her experiences back then. Jada revealed how everything was so insignificant. When the two were having arguments, it was the most important thing in the world for them. But later, when she heard the news of him getting shot, none of the arguments mattered to her.

She said, “I learned that; don’t waste time like that. A whole year out of my pride.” Their pride made them not talk to each other. And this made them miss out on spending time with each other during his last year. She ended it by saying, “Don’t hold onto bull***t; it’s not worth it. You just never know.”
While everyone usually shares great anecdotes about Tupac, the legendary rapper didn’t have the best opinion about His Airness, Michael Jordan.

Tupac once bashed Michael Jordan
Back in 1992, Michael Jordan and Tupac were at the top of their respective industries. Tupac, no matter how famous he got, was close to his roots and stayed with his community. He used his lyrics to shed light on people and their problems.
But he felt like Michael Jordan was not doing the same at the time. He wanted the Chicago Bulls legend to act better and be part of the community. This could help motivate the younger kids. According to Tupac, Jordan was a bad role model and was not doing enough.
