The Boston Celtics are currently the best team in the NBA. Their defense is one of the key reasons for them maintaining their #1 spot in the standings, and Derrick White has a lot to do with it. As White doesn’t always get the recognition that he deserves, over the past couple of months, JJ Redick took it upon himself to remind the fans of the excellence of White.
However, during a recent episode of The Old Man and The Three podcast, Redick apologized to Derrick White for all the eyes and attention that he had brought to the 29-year-old.
“Derrick, I just want to apologize to you. I’m gonna tell you why. Because I know deep down that you don’t like extra attention, and I feel like between my top-100 rant, which I know they asked you about, and then my mistake of a tweet on Christmas day saying that you are an All-Star. I feel like I have brought too much attention your way, so I’m sorry,” said JJ Redick.

Derrick White is grateful for the support that he is receiving. Following the recent performances from White and the support that Redick has given him online, White’s All-Star chances are still not out of the question.
