Barnes has six kids, and they are constantly asking him to impart his wisdom and advice in life. He wants to be a responsible father and be proactive, rather than react after his children have done something.

As the kids are getting older, with the eldest being 14, Matt Barnes knew it was time to let them know about the importance of safe sex.

During the podcast, Matt Barnes said, “… the sex discussion. My kids are going to be freshmen in high school. So I had to buy ’em condoms the other day, and I was so conflicted… They are fourteen, but at the same time, I know that to that point, if they haven’t done it, then it’s really close.

People often overlook the wisdom that Matt Barnes possesses. Stephen A. Smith explained it once, briefly. Barnes revealed that he has plans to be a politician. But Smith dismissed his talk, saying that it is very hard for people to view him as political with the way he portrays himself. Smith said, “You see him tatted up, he?s smoking some weed and he talking about he want to be in politics.”
