Since ‘slap-gate’ between Britney Spears and Victory Wembanyama is escalating with no end in sight, everyone has a take on the issue. The hosts of the podcast Come and Talk 2 Me had a lighthearted take on the matter. To be clear, hosts Cam’ron, Ma$e and Treasure are not poking fun at Spears. The Pop Princess and Wemby’s camps have differing accounts of the incident. So Cam’ron and Ma$e put another perspective on it. Retired NBA legend, Paul Pierce was on the show. While he did find it funny, he also defended Spears on the matter.

Victor Wembanyama’s security guard allegedly struck Britney Spears at a Las Vegas restaurant earlier this month. Although the altercation is between the Womanizer songstress and the NBA player’s security guard, Wemby is also getting dragged in the matter. An online debate has ensued on whether that alleged slap was warranted. The hosts of Come and Talk 2 Me have a different spin on it.

Come and Talk 2 Me discusses the Spears-Wemby incident

If you haven’t caught up already, the incident went down on July 5, 2023. Britney Spears went up to Victor Wembanyama in a Las Vegas restaurant and his security guard allegedly struck her.

Both parties have spoken about the matter and have differing accounts. Spears said that she was only going to congratulate the San Antonio Spurs star for his success. Wemby claims that he thought someone was trying to grab him from behind.

As social media users are prone to do, they debated the varying accounts. Some even claimed that Spears deserved to be hit or Wemby’s reaction is normal to someone sneaking up behind you. Spears filed a police report, but no charges have been filed. She, however, addressed the people saying she deserved it on Instagram.

The hosts of Come and Talk 2 Me also dug into this incident but in a lighthearted way. Cam’ron and Ma$e made a clear disclaimer that they’re against violence and are absolutely not advocating hitting women in any way. However, they may have seen that slap coming. Their reasoning, like many others, was that if you come up behind someone unannounced, a misunderstanding of this level could happen.

“No disrespect to you Britney… nobody know what you look like,” Cam’ron said. He further added, “I walk right past you, I can’t see you… I don’t know what the fu** you look like… we don’t know if you aged well…we don’t know nothing.” He claims it’s easier to recognize Taylor Swift now. Cam’ron wants Britney to be careful out in public because not everyone would recognize her.

Ma$e laughed the loudest at Cam’ron’s theory, but he had a different one. According to him, sneaking up on someone who is in his glory days, i.e., Victor Wembanyama, could have such unexpected consequences. Former Boston Celtics titan, Paul Pierce was left in stitches. But he also questioned Cam’ron for supposedly not recognizing Spears.

The hosts think Wemby and his entourage may have not recognized the superstar singer immediately. Now Victor Wembanyama grew up in France and was born in 2004, thus missing the golden era of Britney ‘Pop Princess’ Spears in the ’90s.

The star’s ’00s have been tumultuous, leading up to the ‘Free Britney’ saga with a lack of new music from her. Cam’ron claimed that even he has a hard time recognizing the current Britney Spears.

Britney Spears is demanding a public apology from Wemby’s guard for this incident. With a scathing statement, she proved that she is ready to see this matter to the end. However, some people are calling for the Grammy-winning artist to move on.

Cam’ron implied that Spears is using this incident to regain clout. Now that’s where Paul Pierce drew the line.

He quickly shut the ‘attention-seeking’ allegation saying, “I don’t know what you talking about right now. That sound crazy, Nah.”  Though the entire thing was nothing but a hilarious rant with no disrespect meant to Britney Spears – and the hosts were also not defending either party – nonetheless, Paul Pierce made sure Britney’s name was in the clear.
