Big Diesel might be considering a new career in video games. No, he’s not coming up with a video game or becoming the face of one. Shaquille O’Neal just discovered video game streaming paid better than NBA contracts. The multi-hyphenate was on Full Squad Gaming’s podcast recently where the hosts informed him of xQc’s recent Kick deal. O’Neal is always one for dipping a finger in every pie. Now that he can see how valuable a slice of the video game pie is, he has relayed a friendly threat to xQc.

Félix Lengyel aka xQc is the next big thing in eSports. In 2023, he flexed an eye-popping streaming deal worth $100 million with Kick. But he could be facing some stiff competition from one NBA legend.

June 2023 was hufe for xQc. The former Overwatch player signed a non-exclusive contract for two years with Kick. The original value of the deal is $70 million with additional performance bonuses of $30 million making the total contract value $100 million. This is among the most expensive contracts across all sports, even rivaling LeBron James’ Lakers contract worth $97.1 million.

It is at least more lucrative than any NBA contract the legend himself, Shaquille O’Neal has witnessed. Big Diesel found out about it when he guested on Full Squad Gaming’s podcast.

Shaq initially admitted he had no idea who xQc was. So the hosts duly informed him about his new contract that’s worth more than LeBron’s. Surprised that playing video games could pay so well, O’Neal had one thing to say.

He’s in trouble because I’m about to come after him.”

Shaq was still in disbelief. “He just turns the camera on and people just watch him?”

When he had his head wrapped around the concept, the hosts asked him what game he would stream. “What would I stream?… I might have to look into that.”  It looks like xQc has triggered O’Neal’s competitive side.

His contract could be in trouble if the ‘Inside the NBA‘ analyst decided to jump into live streaming.

Jack of all trades – Shaquille O’Neal

Gaming streamers everywhere should be very worried if  Shaq jumps into the foray.

The Los Angeles Lakers legend has many feathers in his cap. He’s a platinum-selling music artist, entrepreneur, investor, restauranteur, actor, entertainer, and more. He was performing at the Lollapalooza Paris this month as well. He could very easily rake in the money as a streamer too.

Recently, O’Neal schooled Masterchef finalist, Nick DiGiovanni in his own kitchen. The chef and the NBA titan engaged in a mini burger-off. Shaq won without the judge even tasting his food.

Lighthearted threats aside, O’Neal was genuinely impressed by Xqc’s accomplishment. He gave hearty congratulations to the young player and said he was “happy for him.”
