Headline Maker & Big Scandal Fan Shaquille O’Neal Sets the Record Straight On Kerry Washington’s Cheeky Exposé

Sometimes Shaquille O’Neal is like any other fan. His stardom makes it easy for him to approach a celebrity or two and ask the real questions we all want answered. It recently got him into a ‘scandal’ in more ways than one. It started with the actress behind one of the most iconic on-screen characters in pop culture history making an eyebrow-raising revelation. That put Shaq on the hot seat of The Jennifer Hudson Show.

With his noble intentions cast in doubt, Big Diesel had to clear his name. Before you put him on blast, note that Shaq was only doing what every Scandal fan has been dying to know.

Shaquille O’Neal restores his rep as a #Gladiator

Jennifer Hudson was asking all the right questions when Shaquille O’Neal came on her show. She had to bring up Shaq’s most recent expose at the hands of the amazing Kerry Washington. That’s when Shaq decided to clear the air. “First of all I wasn’t DM-ing,” Shaq said after feigning he had no idea what happened. That’s a little different from Kerry Washington’s account but she didn’t specify much then.

With Hudson pressing, Shaq gave his version of the story. “I’m a fan of hers and we were talking about Scandal.” As any respectable Scandal-head would. “I said ‘God bless you, I’m proud of you and I love your show.'”

Any Gladiator would be shocked to know that there are people out there like Shaq who didn’t savor the show as it aired. He’s in fact a late arrival to the club.

“I wasn’t watching when it was on. So I picked it up, and I was watching like one, two, three… season 7. And I’m a binge watcher. So I watched 7 seasons in 3 days. And then when it went off, I couldn’t find it.”

With a serious case of post-Scandal depression, Shaq went straight to Olivia Pope herself. “So I jumped in the DM was like ‘Hey, a Scandal coming back on?’ that’s all it was,” O’Neal said, hoping his curiosity wouldn’t be interpreted as a ‘slide in’.

That’s not completely far from Kerry Washington’s own account. At that time, she made Shaq seem like a bigger fan than he did.

The Los Angeles Lakers legend is a typical fan who loses it in front of his celebrity crushes.

He still hasn’t gotten over his embarrassing fail when he met Halle Berry in his prime. So allow him to play it cool when it came to his massive love for Olivia Pope & Associates.  While on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked Washington who is the most famous person to slide in her DMs.

Washington answered in a heartbeat, it was Shaq. In all fairness to Shaq, there was nothing weird there. She stated that he’s a huge Scandal fan too. She also hinted he’s in on the vocabulary, claiming, “He’s always like, ‘I’ll do anything for command.'” 

Let’s be fair, Shaq’s doing the lord’s work by seeking a comeback of the Pope and her Gladiators. Whose version of the story sounds better?
