Dennis Rodman‘s story is worth listening to every time we get a chance. But having money is not the only success and happiness in life, as Rodman faced his toughest times after the fame.

In a re-uploaded clip by Graham Bensinger from his Dennis Rodman interview from 2011, he really showcased the athlete’s change in perspective towards life.

Dennis Rodman reveals his reasons to be happy

In 2011, during the show In Depth with Graham Bensinger, Dennis Rodman was asked, “What makes you happy today?”.

To answer this question, Rodman went on to explain everything he was grateful for in life. The 5x champ started by saying that he was happy being still alive. Rodman then talked about believing in people, whereas in the past he didn’t. He specified it by saying that he believed in people who actually like him.

The Chicago Bulls legend always used to think that people associated with him because of his fame and money. However, gradually as Rodman grew older, he is much wiser and realized that there are people who actually care for him. The then 50-year-old said having people like that is the reason he is able to move forward in a good direction.

He then goes on to name artists who lost their lives to overdose and alcohol abuse. Rodman mentioned that people like Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley have made billions, but they are not alive to enjoy it. He believed that he was still in this world because something is keeping him holding on to a good day.

Rodman was a fan of the band Pearl Jam from 1991. He mentioned that their lyrics always calmed him down with their chill vibes. The Bulls legend was at his limit in 1993. Dennis Rodman was going to end it all, but he didn’t. Later, when he revealed what happened that day, he said their voice came into his heart. The 2x All-Star mentioned that they are not the sole reason, but they are part of the reason why he decided against it.
