After winning almost everything in his basketball career, Charles Barkley doesn’t have a lot to prove. Yet, the 60-year-old makes his appearance stand out as a television analyst on TNT and CBS Sports. That remains his only presence on the screens, but that’s what we thought!
Apart from his game-day appearances, Barkley is rarely seen on social media. He is amongst the few who are still hesitant to take on trendy apps. But as it turns out, it was recently revealed that the NBA Hall of Famer is also caught up in the social media fever.

The popular opinion in the basketball world was that Charles Barkley was not on any of the social media platforms. But recently, the news presenter of WVTM 13 pointed out the fact that ‘Chuck’ is using one of the oldest social media platforms.
The news presenter said, “[Barkley] texted me a picture of his grandbaby. And that is Henry up above. He is 18 months old and down below on his knees… You can see that on our Facebook pages.” He added, “He is big pop. He is a grandpa now.” Indeed, ‘Sir Charles’ seems to be enjoying his time as a grandpa, with his Facebook posts showering love to his grandchildren.
Turns out that Barkley is still on his Facebook days and is yet to catch up on the trend of getting onto the latest social media apps. Probably his co-host and friend, Shaquille O’Neal, will come to his rescue and help Barkley make the transition!
On the internet front, Barkley is still an old-fashioned individual. He has grown up to despise social media shenanigans, as he was seen thrashing social media and going down hard on its users.
Why Charles Barkley claims social media is for “losers”
A while back, the NBA icon shocked the internet with his blunt take on social media users. “I think social media is just for losers. To feel like they are important. They get to voice their pain on every single thing in the world,” he said.
However, Barkley also revealed why the internet was turning into a toxic place, which took away its good qualities. “That’s probably some good quality to it, but the problem is we made every loser out there gets to voice their opinion on every subject in the world.”
