The fun with golf has just started for Charles Barkley. The NBA legend’s love for golf is evident in his ardent efforts to master the sport. However, it seems that despite having a good 10 handicap, Sir Charles still has a few things to learn. And he took some time out to ask for a few tips from the first two female golfers, Lexi Thompson, and Rose Zhang, who will showcase their skills on the adrenaline-packed 9th edition of Capital One’s The Match has kicked off.
During the press conference of this historic event, Barkley asked how much time, the skilled golfers spent on the tricky short game part. In response, Zhang seemed to agree with Barkley and shared, “Yeah, I spent a good half of my practice during the short game and putting just because on the course, you are basically playing half your shots within 20 yards.” Agreeing with Barkley and Zhang, Thompson also shared how she dedicated much of her practice time to short games. The two LPGA Tour stars will joined by Rory McIlroy and Max Homa.

After guiding Barkley regarding the short game, the competitors will engage in a head-to-head battle to secure victory in this historic match. Esteemed sports broadcasting figures, including Hall of Famer Ernie Johnson, Trevor Immelman, Christina Kim, and Chuck, will join the commentary cast for the live broadcast on TNT. It’s worth noting that Sir Charles not only contributed to the commentary but also emerged victorious in the 2020 edition of Capital One The Match.

Charles Barkley triumphs over Stephen Curry And Peyton Manning
Barkley teamed up with Phil Mickelson to defeat Stephen Curry and Peyton Manning. The contest began with Mickelson and Barkley missing the first hole. Following that the two were much more focused and maintained a lead of at least three holes throughout the rest of the event. Following his unorthodox swing captured on live TV, the legend kept getting terrible in golf until he got the right coach, Stan Utley, who helped him get better in his game. “I really don’t think people realize how much he loves golf and how much time he spends playing and practicing.” said Utley about Barkley.

Since then, the Philadelphia 76ers legend has been getting better and has shown commendable improvement in his golf skills. His biggest feat in golf was seen when he secured back-to-back birdies back in the American Century Championship. The tournament was special for both Barkley and Curry who won the title.
