NBA is popular for its on-court rivalries. It has seen some of the best-competing duos. However, these players are sometimes great friends off-court. One such duo is Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. These two were highly competitive on the basketball floor but they were best buddies when not facing each other. But the duo’s friendship ended almost a decade ago because of Chuck’s criticism of Jordan’s ownership of the Hornets.
TNT analyst Barkley is known for speaking his mind. One of his criticisms of Jordan led to the end of their once-close friendship. Jordan called Chuck to express his disappointment, following which the two haven’t spoken to each other, for over a decade now. An old video of MJ’s interview resurfaced on the Internet that reveals the GOAT’s true emotions for his friend-turned-rival Chuck.

The duo has always shown fierce competition on the court and has hung together off it. The 76ers legend and MJ got even closer with their golf courses. Barkley often joined MJ and golf legend Tiger Woods in their games.
An old video of MJ’s interview resurfaced on Twitter where he talks about Charles Barkley. When the host asked MJ about his friend from the league, he said, “Charles is probably one of my best.” He continued, “They never won, he is second place. That is not demeaning to Charles; I am motivating him to get on my level.”
He added, “Charles, he is a great speaker, he is a witty guy…but every time when he gets out of his arena talking about winning, I have to bring him back to reality.”

The Round Mound of Rebound’s criticism comment to MJ’s management system of Hornets didn’t sit well with the six-time NBA champion. Jordan, who was clearly upset at Barkley’s comment confronted him on a phone call. According to Barkley, that was their last call and the end of their friendship.
