NBA players and their contribution to child support payments is a never-ending drama! However, a Wizards legend somehow marginally escaped it. Initially proud of his behavior, the 41-year-old has now extended his thoughts to take a direct shot at women, especially wives. Talking about divorces, payments and the like, it looks like the 3-time All-Star got reminded of his ugly past with his ex-wife. It did not just end there as the former NBA guard went on to compare a wife’s role to “prostitution”.
Why was the former guard pissed about wives in general? Well, he is a divorcee. He continues to pay child support payments for his four kids. Most importantly, he experienced a few ugly moments with his ex-wife which could have triggered him.

3-time All-Star Gilbert Arenas went off all of a sudden after listening to a divorce story. During his interview on VladTV, the interviewer shared his hard past where he lost his job as a breadwinner which led to a sudden quit from his ex-wife. After this heart-breaking story, Arenas went on to share his views which are controversial, to say the least.
The 41-year-old parted ways with his ex-wife Laura Govan back in 2014. The Washington legend not only lost custody but also paid $20,000 in child support payments initially.
However, later, after requesting a repeated raise in support payments, ex-wife Govan lost a huge amount of money. The judge not only rejected her claims for a raise but also reduced it to $7100. The Washington legend loved that Govan got frustrated due to this reduction as he did not like the idea of women benefitting through support payments.
Arenas shared in an interview recently, “I don’t think today’s women really understand… It’s just prostitution in a sense… You are not making my life easier, you are making it harder.”
He described certain wives and girlfriends as “takers”, who he believes are doing nothing to support their men.
The veteran also shared what he expects from his wife/girlfriend.

Arenas further added in the interview, “If you are a stay-at-home wife or girlfriend, then you need to understand what that means…When I come home, is the house clean and the suitcase packed?…are the clothes clean, folded?”

Clearly, Arenas has a very specific set of requirements in relationships and he seems a bit angry at the changing times.
“Do your part to make the entity’s life easier,” Arenas boldly suggested to women. The 6’4” former point guard believes a wife “should be ashamed” if her NBA husband has an assistant as it is the role of a wife to support the bread-winner, according to Arenas.
