Gilbert Arenas Compares Himself To Stephen Curry In “Three-Headed Monster” Take

Gilbert Arenas was one of the most dominating basketball players in the 2000s. Fans might be well aware of the times when he faced off with the Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade. However, what’s more disheartening is that he had a very brief moment to display his prowess. Until numerous injuries began to affect him, he was undeniably one of the best players. Speaking of his prime days, the legend recently made a comparison to the Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry.

Agent Zero recently celebrated Christmas by engaging with his fans during a YouTube live session, addressing their much-asked questions. One of the fans asked if injuries hadn’t intervened. Could he have led a team to a championship? He acknowledged not having a definitive answer, but suggested things might have been different if certain aspects had aligned in the right way.

Drawing a comparison with Curry, he mentioned having gained insights into his own game by observing 4x champion, given the similarities between them. He said, “We could lead a team to championship…Now that I have a vision of someone that played like me, Stephen Curry…I would say yes but I would need exactly the right type of pieces.”

Speaking of being a part of the Big Three back in the 2000s. He added, “If I had Antawn, (Jamison) Caron (Butler), and it’s the three-headed monsters… maybe I can’t answer a definite yes or a definite no.”

Just a few months back, Arenas made a bold claim involving Curry that garnered attention from fans.

Before fans could misunderstand his words, the former Golden State Warriors player clearly mentioned that at the age of 25, he was better than the 25-year-old Curry. In an episode of ‘I Am Athlete,‘ he said, “So if you stop me at 25, Steph ain’t hanging with me. You’ve got to stop it at 25. At 25, there are no three championships.” He added, “There’s only a one-time All-Star. I’m a three-time All-Star and a three-time All-NBA player by the age of 25.”

He averaged 28.4 points, 6.0 assists, and 4.6 rebounds at 25. While we are uncertain if he was better than the 4x champion, we can surely say that Arenas was indeed one of the best players.
