Shaquille O’Neal the conspiracy peddler? Only when it comes to one of the greatest musicians in history. For the second time, Big Diesel has fueled a major doubt about the phenomenal Stevie Wonder, the artist with the most Grammy awards in his name. His little jest has left his 32 million Instagram followers in stitches. O’Neal’s skepticism is not to be taken lightly though.

Shaq has had many celebrity run-ins but his meeting with the R&B icon simply takes the cake. He’s using it to drive a theory he first hinted at a year ago.

The Los Angeles Lakers legend has his eyes on Stevie Wonder. For years he’s harped on the claim that the legendary musician has sight. He’s always coming up with supposed evidence to prove his claim. He’s not the only one on the Stevie Wonder conspiracy theory train, but he’s undoubtedly the biggest.

This time he posted a niftily edited video on Instagram of Stevie responding to Lady Gaga’s flying kiss from far down the stage. It switched to DJ Diesel’s loaded side-eye. He didn’t caption it but that expression said everything.

The incident goes back to 2015 when the Grammy’s gave an all-star salute to Stevie Wonder. Lady Gaga was one of the stars in the lineup and after an awe-inspiring rendition of “I Wish,” she blew a kiss at Stevie downstage. The camera also caught him blowing kisses back at her.

Conspiracy theorists bring this clip back over and over to claim Wonder can see. Shaq isn’t the first and won’t be the last.

What Shaq and his fellow conspiracy peddlers discount is that his wife, Tomeeka Robyn Bracy, was the one who told Wonder that Lady Gaga blew him a kiss. He responded after his wife’s prompt. Shaq conveniently removed that part of the clip to support his theory.

It’s in good humor and fans see it too. However, this isn’t the first time the big man has investigated Mr. Stevie Wonder’s condition.

Shaq’s previous Stevie Wonder claim

Because of being born six weeks premature, Stevie Wonder lost his sight shortly after his birth due to retinopathy of prematurity. By all accounts, he is visually impaired. His close friend, Lionel Richie would argue the contrary. Shaquille O’Neal is another one.

O’Neal recalled on Inside the NBA in 2019 about running into Stevie while they lived in the same building complex in Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles. The 2000 NBA MVP was in the elevator when Wonder entered. Apparently, he recognized Shaq without a single exchange.

“He comes in, says ‘what’s up Shaq.’ Presses the button, it’s a true story, presses the button, gets off on his floor by himself, goes to his room,” he told the Inside Guys.

Shaq apparently tried to broadcast that to everyone he knew. But neither them and his co-hosts believed it. Charles Barkley didn’t even believe he was Stevie Wonder’s neighbor which Shaq again tried to prove.
