Soon after he joked about playing in Saudi, LeBron James actually flew to Saudi Arabia to conduct a basketball camp for children. The 53-year-old ex-Lakers star Robert Horry discussed the same on his podcast, “Big Shot Bob with Robert Horry“. His co-host asked him, “Do you think LeBron is using this opportunity to ‘grease the wheel’ a little bit?

The 7x NBA Champion responded, “I don’t think so. He of course put it out there because Saudi Arabia got a lot of money!” Horry further added, “I guarantee you this camp, he’s making about $5 Million in Saudi. And so, he’s going to go take that bag and I ain’t mad at him.

You know, people don’t like certain countries but hey, you have to take advantage of the opportunities while you still can,” he concluded.

The former teammate of Kobe Bryant further talks about the massive developments that Saudi Arabia is making to grow their different sporting leagues.

Saudi Arabia’s plan for entering global sports

Robert Horry describes the massive development of sports infrastructure that is happening in Saudi Arabia. He mentions in his podcast, “You should see… they literally built an island! Brought in sand and built an island. Now they’re building basketball courts and football courts. It’s massive.

In fact, after seeing Neymar Jr.’s potential contract, even LeBron James joked about moving to the country for a bigger bag.
