The visible tension of the trade deadline was quite evident among fans and players, portraying the gravity of the situation. Currently, the Golden State Warriors have the attention of the public fixated on them. However, an ESPN employee just unnecessarily pulled Stephen Curry into the conversation with an article titled, “The Warriors won’t break up their long-standing core unless Steph Curry agrees to it.” Former NBA player and 3-point king, Reggie Miller expressed that the article seemed to put pressure for a change directly on the player rather than the organization. He even shared the post on his Instagram Stories and aired his opinion on the matter.

He argued, “I’m sorry, don’t put this out there unless you have Curry quoted saying this. Why put the pressure on the player instead of management and ownership.” Furthermore, he added, “All y’all doing is setting the player up for unwarranted criticism when the team doesn’t go anywhere.”

Despite the tense situation, some of the players as well as the head coach Steve Kerr seem to have faith in the roster. However, given the team’s performance, it wasn’t surprising to why there has been so much discussion.

However, Kerr was quite unfazed. Despite the team’s position in 11th place, Kerr has confidence in his players. “I feel like this group can do something special,” Kerr said. “If we don’t do anything tomorrow, we feel like we have a good group we can push with.”
