Former Clippers Superstar Unearths Lasting Impact of Gracious Last Kobe Bryant Memory: “My Mom Got A…”

It was an honor for everyone to play alongside and compete against NBA icon Kobe Bryant. Just a year before the Black Mamba‘s retirement, Lou Williams was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. The 3x NBA Sixth Man of the Year considers that year and the memories of the game to be the fondest memories he has of the departed star.

From his work ethic to his amazing personality, Kobe forged an unbreakable bond with the broader NBA world. Bryant?s former teammate recently touched upon a special memory he shares with the legend.

Lou Williams reminisces about Kobe Bryant?s kindness

The Lakers legend was one of the coldest players to have ever graced the league. Highly competitive like Michael Jordan and skilled, Bryant was a menace on the court. However, during the end of his career, both fans and others got to see a different version of the legend. He was spotted smiling broadly for the viewers as well.

Looking back at those days, Williams expressed his happiness at having the chance to play alongside Kobe during the latter’s final days in the league.

During his recent appearance on ‘Podcast P with Paul George?, the 37-year-old shared his experience. He revealed how he even received a personalized item from the legend. Williams?said, ?I just remember (Kobe’s) last game that he scored 60, man. He was so gracious to everybody bro. I’m glad that was my last memory of him.??Williams further revealed how Kobe signed piles of memorabilia for people.

He added, ?My mom got a pair of shoes personalized to her. I got a jersey. I got a jersey for my cousin. Everybody stuff personalized like he really took his time and showed that appreciation. I’m glad that was like that was the last time I seen him.?

It might have been Bryant?s last game in the NBA, but he never gave up the chance to shine. During the conversation, George also detailed his experience with the legend.

Paul George spoke about how Kobe Bryant helped him

George reached out to Kobe once for assistance with his game. He noted how he was surprised to receive a detailed reply. He said, ?I need some help I’m getting double team like I don’t know like I ain’t played ball in like two weeks. I just sent Kobe a text like yo I’m having trouble with a b and c.”

Williams added, “he hit me back that next ultimately that next morning a whole paragraph breakdown of like when you know this player do this do that when the help come look for this like it was just so in-depth like detailed out and it’s crazy.??
