Draymond Green has been reinstated by the NBA after serving his 12-game suspension. While talking about his struggles during his time off, the Golden State Warriors forward revealed that he thought of retiring from the NBA as external factors became too overwhelming to handle. But after speaking with Adam Silver, the 4x NBA champion decided to make his way back to the team. While some people choose not to believe Green’s confession, New York Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony has come out on the 2017 DPOY’s side.

During a recent episode of 7 PM in Brooklyn, Carmelo Anthony was asked by the Kid Mero if he believed the retirement confession made by Draymond Green. Having gone through tough times in his own career, Anthony understood precisely what Green was going through. “I know what that feeling is like when you can’t—you feel like you can’t do nothing right. Everybody is against you… You tryna figure out your own self. How do you fit into what is actually happening, and moving forward, your future, you start thinking about all of that… So it’s like, ‘Now y’all just picking on me—I’m just the most f**ked up person to ever walk this planet,’” expressed the 10x All-Star.

This forced him to make some changes. But during his suspension, Green was overwhelmed with all the talk surrounding the influence of his actions on his team.

Melo understands that when people lose their belief in you and, at the same time, find reasons to blame you, it is tough to dig yourself out of the trenches. But Green has made considerable progress so far, according to the NBA. That’s why his suspension was removed. Now the star looks to make his way back to the team and help his team get to the postseason.
