For much of the world, basketball equals Michael Jordan. After all, he was one of the most potent two-way players ever. And the sheer dominance of his prime is yet to be replicated. Despite all this, hooping was never his childhood love. As a youngster who adored sports, he first leaned toward baseball. It was a dream he shared with his father. It even came to a point where in his brief retirement from the NBA, His Airness played minor league baseball. Later in 2017, he became a part of the MLB. He joined forces with longtime friend Derek Jeter to purchase a minority stake in the Miami Marlins.

Since then, the Captain has left the ownership group. But MJ remains standing as a 1% owner. And today, the franchise seems to have attracted a large fan. A 7-foot giant of a man, Shaquille O’Neal.

After these theatrics, the four-time champion was also challenged to a game of pickup basketball. The Marlins’ social media shared the poor victim who faced the wrath of the NBA’s most dominant. Shaq was in his backyard. He bullied his way to the rim, then sent the mini-size basketball flying across the room. Honestly, the undersized man had no chance in the face of Superman. Nonetheless, it made for what was a memorable moment in Marlins history.

He only recently relived the memory on Twitter. Sharing a snippet of his memorable first pitch, he asked the question – “How fast is my fastball?”
