Back in 2004, the kid from Akron won his very first ESPY. And in a span of nearly 20 years, the 4-time MVP has won 8 of them. No wonder he is the King!

Months after scaring the NBA with retirement talks, James finally announced his decision to return for his 21st season. While that stole the show on one side, the ESPYs tribute to Carmelo Anthony stood as a highlight on another.?

Following this, the banana boat buddies welcomed the 2013 scoring champion. An emotional Anthony started off,?“Damn. Wow… This is unexpected but really incredible. I just wanna say thank you so much for believing in me…The league and our game will always be special to me.”

Anthony added, “The people that I have met. The lessons I have learned, the brotherhood that we created,”?as he pointed at the NBA legends who stood with him. As always, the Nuggets legend did not fail to share people’s favorite bar,?“When in doubt, stay Melo.”

However, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade couldn’t ‘stay Melo’ as they were teary-eyed seeing their friend’s retirement.
