Since he’s renowned as a Los Angeles Laker, Shaq often visits Staples Center even after his retirement. On one such occasion, two LA legends collided. A Hollywood stalwart did the unthinkable and pranked the 3-time champion during a Lakers home game. You see, Shaquille O’Neal is known to be quite the prankster himself. Whether it’s on-court with other players or off-court with his TNT colleagues, Dr Shaq enjoys pulling a fast one.
It was a rare moment where Big Diesel was on the receiving end of a prank. A Hollywood legend recently recalled Shaq’s involvement in ithe iconic moment during an interview with Kevin Hart.
Shaquille O’Neal removed from Staples Center

Almost a decade ago, Shaquille O’Neal attended a basketball game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns. The match was held at the Staples Center in LA. Fans in attendance did not know they were about to receive the shock of their lives. They saw popular actor and comedian Will Ferrell standing on the edge of the basketball court.
He was facing the crowd whilst wearing a security guard outfit. Aside from the bright uniform, the actor also donned a ‘serious expression’ and didn’t smile the whole time he was there.
During Will’s ‘performance’, one of the most memorable moments occurred when he asked Shaq to stand up and personally escorted the former player out of the stadium as a simulated ‘ejection’.
The duo tried their best to not crack a smile as onlookers and commentators watched with dropped jaws.
Will Ferrell recalls the moment with Kevin Hart
Ferrell recently appeared in an episode of ‘Hart to Heart’, a show on the Peacock Network that features renowned actor and comedian Kevin Hart as a host.
During the conversation, Ferrell went into the backstory of how the entire event came to be. From describing his reaction upon receiving the Staples Center security guard costume as a gift, secretly sneaking it at the Lakers Game, and then taking his position at the court, Will described it all.

When the game approached its last quarter, the Hollywood actor described how one of Shaq’s ‘people’ came up to him. Thankfully, the former player found his act hilarious. He then went on to ask if Ferrell wishes to throw Shaq out during the next time out.
“So the next time I stood up, I keep looking over at Shaq,” said Ferrell as Hart let out a laugh. “And then finally, you’re like ‘That’s it, let’s go’. I throw him out of the game.”

After the moment had occurred, the duo hugged and Shaq told Ferrell: “Anytime, you can throw me out anytime.”
