Anthony Davis has been on a rampage lately. However, that performance is a good example of the form he has been in for some time. Now with the season getting more tense by the day, AD’s contribution will be a deciding factor for the LA Lakers.

LeBron James had said at the beginning of this season that this is going to be AD’s team, and it certainly seems like he is getting into that role. More importantly, Davis’ game is being praised by NBA veterans as well.

Going into the new season, LeBron decided to set the record straight by saying that this year the team will be led by AD. Now, it’s been months since that statement was made. In that time, Lakers have been through some ups and downs, and have won the inaugural In-Season Tournament. In the IST final on Christmas, AD scored 41 points with 20 rebounds and 5 assists, though his contribution was to a losing cause. So, it’s only fair that now he is getting major shoutouts. After yesterday’s performance, Chandler Parsons said, “[Anthony Davis] has got the talent to be the best player in the NBA.”

Discussing AD’s recent form on the Run It Back show, Parsons said that AD has every element in him to be named among the best players ever. He said, “This is the version of him that LeBron talked about…this is his team. We need to go through him. He’s gotta be the guy.”

Over the last 14 games, AD is averaging 29 points and 13 rebounds. By those numbers, Parsons is willing to put him above LeBron as far as the current best player in the Lakers camp goes.

He said, “As good as LeBron has been, Anthony Davis has been better, and he has been consistent”. Parsons said that the NBA changes every week, so he doesn’t have a concrete position for him. However, the NBA veteran said that he would put AD in the top 7 best players in the league.

Although the Lakers lost their last matchup against the Boston Celtics, Anthony Davis was a treat to watch on Christmas.
