Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal have had their ups and downs over the years. From fist fighting on an NBA court in 1999 to now sitting together and hosting TNT’s Inside the NBA show, the two have come a long way. Having recently signed a contract extension, Shaquille O’Neal is planning on staying together for a long time.

Barkley is one of the few people who knows exactly what to say to get Shaq riled up. Although the two are close friends now, Shaq has some acts planned for his eventual final day on TNT.

In a recent episode of Owned with Rex Chapman, Shaquille O’Neal was the special guest. During the show, Shaq gave his insights on what it is like to be a player and a businessman. Shaq wants people to know that he always tries his best to be nice, have fun, and show everyone respect.

But the person who always derails Shaq from his plans is Charles Barkley. This led to Shaq revealing his final plans for when he decides to retire from Inside the NBA.

Shaq said, “Before I retire, Imma, just get up, punch him in the face and look at the camera, and say that I know you all gonna fire me but you can’t. Cause I quit.

He also said that once he does that, he will disappear from the public eye and will never be seen again. People will have to come look for him in the desert to find him. Shaq added what he thinks people would say: “Ever since Shaq beat up Charles Barkley, he is nowhere to be seen.

Although the two co-hosts constantly share banter on the show, it has never come close to an actual fistfight. This is because of their mothers.

Back in 1999, Shaquille O’Neal was playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. One day they went up against Charles Barkley, who at the time was playing for the Houston Rockets.

During a possession, Shaq and Barkley got into an argument and started fighting on the court. Both of them were ejected, and Shaq was extremely pissed off. Shaq was planning on meeting Barkley after the match was over to settle the score. That’s when Shaq received a call from his mother.

She told them to stop fighting and that they were both too great to be fighting over basketball. That’s when Shaq realized that both his mother and Barkley’s mother were friends, and they talked to each other all the time.
