ESPN?s Stephen A. Smith Breaks Silence on Mark Jackson?s Sour Knicks Encounter

This has been a rough few months for Mark Jackson. From his being fired from ESPN to the New York Knicks drama unfolding, a lot has been said about the 58-year-old. Recently, the Knicks controversy has been the talking point in the basketball world. While Jackson himself had a rather subtle response to all of this, his ex-colleague had a lot to say.

Stephen A. Smith rarely holds back from speaking his mind. When it is about his ex-colleague, he goes in guns blazing against everyone responsible for Jackson’s situation.

Stephen A. Smith puts everyone on blast

Stephen A. is one of the most notable and respected voices in the world of sports. He has built his reputation on voicing his opinion about everything that goes in and around the league. However, his domain is not restricted to the NBA as he talks about other sports as well. One more thing that separates him from the others is the fact that no issue is too big or critical for Stephen A. to not touch upon. So when, in his view, injustice is being done to his ex-colleague, he has to address it. The 56-year-old talked about it on the Stephen A. Smith show.

The noted sports analyst is big on standing up for his friends, colleagues, and people he cares about. Jackson surely is among those people who Smith considers to be really close to him. Recently, he blasted everyone who is responsible for Jackson being blackballed from the league. Going against everyone taking no names, Smith said “I’m getting sick and damn tired, every time Mark Jackson wants something or got something going on. They want to get in the way of this man trying to earn an honest living.”

Although the sports analyst didn’t take any names, he said “You know exactly who the hell I’m talking about”.

The Mark Jackson drama

About a week ago, news broke out that Jackson has been barred from commentating on Knicks games. Jackson was an NBA athlete from 1987 to 2004. After his career, to went on to coach the Golden State Warriors from 2011 to 2014. After his job as a coach, Jackson then went on to work for ESPN as a commentator and was removed earlier this year amidst ESPN’s firing wave.

While all the talks around his Knicks saga continue to grow, he took a stance against it four days ago. Jackson said that he wanted to clear the air on the rumor and said that he refrained from the offer on his will.
