Dwyane Wade’s Michael Jordan-Inspired Pep Talk Powers Business Manager’s Son to All-Star Selection

Not many bosses are like Dwyane Wade. The NBA icon was a spectator and cheerleader for his business manager’s son. Lisa Joseph Metelus has supported him throughout his career. Wade’s close to her family, especially her son. So he had to stop by the kid’s big soccer game. D-Wade’s young friend was having a Michael Jordan moment too. And not because he had an NBA star cheering him on.

After a jaw-droppingly spectacular work trip, Wade had some wholesome time this weekend. Not only did he spend time with his colleagues/friends, but he also had a bonding time with his daughter.

Dwyane Wade plays soccer cheerleader for the day

Lisa Joseph Metelus, a CAA executive, has been Dwyane Wade’s business manager for a long time. He’s also close to her son, AJ, though he’s not inclined to basketball. He instead plays soccer.

Wade stopped by AJ’s soccer game to give him a boost. Metelus captured that moment and shared it on her Instagram Stories. “When one of the [goat emoji] shows up to your playoff game and give you a pep talk after the loss,” she wrote.

So it was a major game for AJ and he unfortunately lost. Who better than a 3x NBA champion who’s had his fair share of playoff defeats to keep his spirits up?

Wade re-posted Metelus’ post on his Stories with a small teaser of what he told AJ. “I told him this was his flu game.” Any NBA fan would make that connection. Michael Jordan won his flu game. But AJ wasn’t disheartened for too long. He was selected to the All-Star team while his parents and Wade were present.

Dwyane Wade & Co. always have family time

When The Flash is busy, so is his team. Metelus is an executive at CAA while handling the majority of Wade’s diverse businesses. The Miami Heat great had a luxurious work trip in the UAE recently. No word on whether she accompanied him recently, but the Sunday after the trip, he was with the Metelus fam at the soccer game.

Wade also squeezed in family time of his own. While enjoying the Rams game with his team from his production studio colleagues, he spent some time with his youngest daughter too.
