Among Dwyane Wade‘s many business ventures, one that stands alone is his unique sneaker line. In his collaboration with Li-Ning for the ‘Way of Wade’, the Miami Heat legend did not sign a lot of players from the NBA. Oh, but he did sign D’Angelo Russell, who has been on one for the Los Angeles Lakers for the past few weeks. And this would be the perfect time for him to promote his $12 million deal with Li-Ning to garner some power in the market.
One of Russell’s famous sneakers under the 3-time champion’s brand is the Way of Wade 808 3 Ultra. The Lakers guard has been using this repeatedly in his last few games, and he has delivered some of the best performances wearing it in January. Wade shared an Instagram reel of these stunning shoes and added, “(D’Angelo Russell) been hooping in these joints”, which the 27-year-old guard reshared on his Instagram story.

When Russell signed the deal, Wade revealed that he would be the “on-court face” of the brand, which has worked right for the Heat champion now. Wade brought the Lakers star into his brand when he was playing for the Golden State Warriors.

The only reason why Dwyane Wade chose Russell was because his game reminded him of his own. And it’s no lie considering Russell’s performance off late for the Lakers.

D’Angelo Russell might have put a possible end to the Lakers trade talk
After reports revealed that the Lakers have put Russell on the table for a blockbuster trade, the 27-year-old proved that his team made a mistake. In January, the veteran guard delivered some game-changing performances that Dwyane Wade referred to in his story. In the 13 games he played last month, Russell averaged 22.7 points and 6 assists which has made the Lakers hesitant to move him now.

There was already a trade offer that was sent to the Atlanta Hawks for Dejounte Murray and luckily for the Lakers, it was declined. There are still four days left for the trade deadline and the Lakers will likely retain him. Moreover, in all the games in which he recorded his career-best stats, he was wearing the Way of Wade. Now the ‘Flash‘ can be happy that he made the right move by signing Russell.
