Every time the discussion of the most fashionable NBA star veers to someone else,?The Flash?swoops back into the chat. Dwyane Wade is proving he’s a trendsetter in every way at the GQ Men of the Year party. He’s brought a splash of color to one of the biggest nights on the calendar after the Met Gala (which, too, D-Wade does exquisitely). Like any savvy fashion aficionado on social media, he showed off his fit with a little wit.
Since his days with the Miami Heat, red has always been D-Wade’s color. But this is a suave man who does fashion from head to toe.

GQ’s much-anticipated Men of the Year celebration was back for its 2023 edition. While it’s known for creating some pre-Oscar buzz, it also draws some noteworthy men from other fields. Representing the blend of style and basketball was Dwyane Wade.
Dressed in Givenchy, he broke the near-monochromatic color scheme going around with a splash of pink. His blush-cropped vest with rosy details was complemented by a lighter pair of trousers and dark shoes. He shared several pictures of his fit from before and during the event on November 16 through his Instagram Stories. His ensemble made him stand out on the red carpet that he had to write a cheeky, “Call me Billi Red Rose.”
He told GQ he’s making the most of the few warm days left in California to flaunt his arms and tattoos with his selection. Anyone who knows? The Flash?knows he doesn’t spare that 0.1%. He switched up his hair to go with his Givenchy picks too. Before the uninitiated say he’s blonde, make no mistake. Wade specified the exact new shade of his hair is “bone broth.” He’d show off his hair once more on his stories with a declaration, “So me.”

“This is real?GQ,” he said as he stood out in fashion fit for spring among his peers at the event. Houston Rockets’ Jalen Green was at the party too in a pin-striped number. But we think Wade’s outshining him there.

The Conde Nast title’s annual event was at the renovated Bar Marmont, attached to the historic Chateau Marmont (the view of which Wade snapped). This year’s hosting committee included the October issue’s subjects, Jacob Elordi, Kim Kardashian, Travis Scott, and Tom Ford.

D-Wade takes post-NBA life to a new level
There are a good many reasons why Wade deserves a spot in the MOTY gala. Majorly, he’s been a beacon of inspiration for the LGBTQIA+ youth and their families. Another major event he was at in recent history was the 2023 Clinton Global Initiative in September, where he pledged to help young people like his daughter, Zaya.
GQ’s MOTY event is on par with the Vanity Fair Oscar Party and the Vogue-curated Met Gala. Wade has been to these events too as the multi-hyphenate he is. We’re going to see more sides of him and his relationship with Zaya through the Netflix documentary, The Dads.
