Keeping up with his love for culinary exploration, Miami Chef Richard Ingraham introduced his second cookbook. The inspiration behind his book is simply his desire to express his love for cooking. The same love that ultimately led him towards working for some of the greatest sports stars, including the Miami Heat icon and his wife, Gabrielle Union.

Showing his approval and appreciation for Chef Richard’s latest book, “Love,” Wade reshared one of his book update reels on his Instagram story. Alongside the reel, the 3x NBA champion wrote, “Proud!!! I can’t wait for this book come to life congrts @chefrli.”

The champ also commented on the comments section. “It’s the Love and Passion you put into the book for me,” Wade wrote. The 13x NBA All-Star is also responsible for inspiring myriads of Chef Richard’s tantalizing creations.

His famous flash sauce was inspired by the basketball great. Over the years, he has created delectable dishes that cover every nutritional need of the Miami Heat legend. Did you know that the chef wasn’t even aware of who Wade was when he was hired?

Chef Richard worked as a professional hairdresser. However, he always ensured to dedicate enough time to his passion for cooking. It seemed like fate when he got an offer from one of his clients and landed a winner. The client turned out to be Wade’s manager, Lisa Joseph Metelus, and the role was to be the Flash‘s personal chef. But back then, he didn’t know about Wade or any basketball stars since he didn’t follow the sport.

“She gave me a call and asked if I’d like to cook for an NBA player. I said, ‘I guess so,’ and she told me who it was and I remember I didn’t really follow basketball so I said, ‘I don’t even know who that is,” Richard told Yahoo in 2022. So, when he was suggested to do an internet check, it was a big surprise and an opportunity for him.

He has worked for more than 18 years for Wade. As the chef explains, this has been “the most rewarding thing ever” for him. His first book, Eating Well to Win saw success and we hope he can replicate the same and even more success with his second book.
