Dwyane Wade is a clever business owner, and he has proven so time and again. From his investments in sports franchises to baby care products, Wade’s range is as impressive as his promotional skills. The NBA veteran recently upped his game a notch and claimed credit for an LA Lakers star’s on-court performance.

No, Wade didn’t claim to have taught the Laker the spin and score move, but he did say that his shoes played a big role in the execution of that particular play. He re-shared a clip from the NBA’s official Instagram page on his story and boasted about the qualities of his shoes.

During yesterday’s game, the Lakers finally managed a comeback. They are currently placed 7th on the Western Conference table. The game against the Houston Rockets was important for the LA franchise and they clinched a much-needed win in the game that ended 107-97. While the Lakers celebrated their win, Wade saw an opportunity to promote his brand Way of Wade. The 3x NBA champion shared a clip of D’Angelo Russell executing a spin and score shot to perfection on his Instagram story. D-Lo was wearing a pair of Wade’s shoes during the game.

The NBA veteran wrote “It’s the talent but the shoes helped”, taking part of the credit for Russell’s shot. Wade started the company back in 2012 in collaboration with Li-Ning. Currently in its 11th year, Way of Wade offers fans a chance to wear Wade’s signature shoes, and the price for a pair is not outrageous. The Way of Wade shoes sell for a little over $100 and going by the fact that NBA athletes are wearing them, the Wade collaboration is thriving. However, this is not the only thing that the 41-year-old has invested in. He recently collaborated with Google to promote another one of his ventures.
