According to a report by ESPN’s Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Kevin Durant was frustrated with the performance and team in his recent game against the Mavericks. The report read, “They can feel the frustration with Durant…Part of that, certainly, is the missed games from Brad Beal.”

The report quickly led the fans and other media houses to scrutinize Durant’s actions. Following this, the 2X NBA champion also shared his opinion on the matter. Amidst all the chaos, former Suns player Eddie Johnson also shared his take. He added how some people follow everything that is being uploaded on social media.

Speaking about his own experience, he added, The thing that just drives me nuts is it’s so much competition that they tend to take shortcuts now I’m one that hates that because all you got to do is Google.” He suggested that there should be proper research before sharing an update about a player on social media. He argued, “Man can’t nobody have a bad day? maybe KD not having a good game maybe he tried something that he tried again last night that worked but it didn’t work in that game he is flustered.”

Kevin Durant responded to ESPN Insider

The situation particularly escalated after Durant’s performance in Phoenix’s 128–114 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. While fans and media criticized the player because of the report by the ESPN insider, Durant wasn’t silent either. He decided to clap back with his response. In response to a particular comment on IG, he wrote, “Woj says somebody else ‘feels’ that I’m frustrated and it turned into me being mentally checked out.” He added. “This sh*t crazy, these people can flat out lie on my name and make sh*t up and you people will believe it but when my teammates n coaches speak on how I am as a teammate, u ignore it lol.”

Although the comment has been removed, fans and media members captured a screenshot of it. While fans were quick to judge the player, he didn’t hesitate to take a stand for himself on the matter. Durant has been exceptional with his game this season. Moreover, after facing the loss to the Mavericks, he admitted that he needed to elevate his game.
