In just six years since he joined the NBA,?Jayson Tatum has been making waves. From being named the Eastern Conference Finals MVP in 2022 to leading his team to the Finals, Tatum has marked his presence in a manner that?s quite rare for young NBA players. The skills and prowess of the 25-year-old have earned him the nickname ?The Problem? from none other than LeBron James himself.

Tatum?s dominance has earned him the respect of a few former players as well. Days after one of them motivated the young player during a workout session, he discusses what he means to Tatum during an interview.

Recently, the 2004 NBA MVP Kevin Garnett was in a discussion with former Celtics teammate Paul Pierce and former Memphis Grizzlies player Tony Allen. During the conversation, Garnett touched base on how Paul Pierce and Jayson Tatum have been working out together. The?Big Ticket wanted to know ?how has it been?? and ?who initiated? their workout plans?

Paul Pierce recalled that, in the beginning, he just went with ?Sam?, possibly Sam Mitchell, to watch the current Celtics star working out. According to Pierce, all he is doing is acting out as a supporter for Tatum, while making use of the workouts to get himself??back in shape?.

Pierce went on to place Tatum amongst the ?top five players in the league?. Through this comment, the former NBA star not only showed loyalty to the player but also to the $4 billion worth franchise which both players have been a part of.

?It?s an honor just to be there and see him go through his journey,? said the 2008 NBA Champion during the podcast.

Turning to Tony Allen, Garnett later asked the former player about the one thing that he feels that Jayson Tatum could improve in his game playing style. Allen went on to state that Deuce needs to improve on his ?seek and destroy mentality.?

If nothing else, Pierce knows how JT has been seeking and destroying some weights in the gym.

Pierce cheers on as Jayson Tatum deadlifts 495 lbs

The Truth‘s praise for the 4x NBA All-Star comes a week after he highlighted Tatum?s heavy lifting accomplishment.

Back in August, a video of Tatum in the gym went viral. It featured the Boston Celtics forward bending down, keeping his will strong and proceeding to deadlift a whopping 495 lbs. The weight he lifted was almost 285 lbs more than the player?s own body weight!

As Tatum lifted those heavyweights, Paul Pierce could be heard in the background saying ?Let?s get it baby. Come on, come on. Let?s start this week fighting. Hell yeah. Hell yeah.? Having a former Celtics player as a hype man must have been an incredible feeling for Tatum.
