O’Neal believes he is the most powerful center in NBA history. Also at the same time, he believes Zion Williamson is more explosive than him. The young star has not been consistent enough due to major injuries. Williamson played only 24 games in his first season and only 29 games last year, due to his injury-prone legs. Making complete use of the off-season though, the 23-year-old has not only reduced weight but also looks jacked for the new season.

The hopes are high as he looks in his best shape. However, Shaquille O’Neal believes weight reduction has a major disadvantage.

Regardless,?Big Diesel?still believes in Zion. He promoted his new “jacked” look by re-sharing some media from the Pelicans’ media day to his Instagram story.?

Shaq and his co-hosting frenemy Charles Barkley, believe Williamson looks like their baby, due to the similarity in their physiques. Jokes apart, Shaq will continue to root for the Pelicans star. And it seems that Zion himself has words of encouragement for forlorn fans.

The stats of Williamson are indeed impressive, but at the same time, his absence is very concerning.

Initially, as a power forward, he has now taken the bigger responsibility of occasionally playing at center. This means more physicality and more risk of injury. Yet, Williamson is confident. During the media day ahead of preseason, Williamson kept it simple, “the best is still yet to come.”

The hopes are high, and so is the fear, but Williamson has a chance to change his career in the upcoming season.?
