Earlier this month, Reebok announced Shaquille O’Neal as their new President of Basketball. He already started making his presence known as he signed upcoming collegiate star Angel Reese. She will join the sneaker brand effective immediately. But Reebok has not forgotten who actually earned them the recognition back in the 1990s. Although he has stepped into a management position, the Big Aristotle is also the face of the brand.

On the back of the shoe, his dunkman logo is placed across the words ‘SHAQ’. Images of the shoes were shared by SneakerNews.
The shoe is also set to bring back its iconic ‘pump’ technology, and the shoes will feature a pump on the tongue of the shoe.
Reebok will release the new version on November 3rd. Further, the price will be $180 for a pair. This is sticking with Shaq’s pursuit of making affordable shows for the people; aa journey that he started in 1998 after getting cussed out by a middle-class mother.

Back in 1998, while Shaq was leaving the arena after a game, he met a middle-class mother. The woman was cussing Shaq out and told him that his shoes were too expensive for kids to afford.
O’Neal told her that he had a few thousand dollars on him at the moment, so he would give her that so she could buy for her kids. This made her reject the money as she didn’t understand why the legend wouldn’t make his existing shoes more affordable.
After thinking about it for a while, Shaq decided to cut ties with Reebok and start his own shoe line with Walmart, which would be affordable for everyone. 25 years later, O’Neal is back at Reebok and he has brought his consumer conscious mindset with him!
