Back in July, the father-son duo attended a Syracuse football match when the 6ft 4 teenager received a scholarship offer from Syracuse. The same university where his father played in 2003, before going #3 overall in the NBA Draft. During that period, his father played a pivotal role in leading Syracuse to their first NCAA championship. 20 years later, his son was approached by coach Jim Boeheim.

Recently, Kiyan Anthony added to the buzz by announcing an official visit to the college.

Speaking of the exceptional opportunity, Kiyan said, “When the coaches came up to me and finally offered me a scholarship, I was really in a star-struck moment because he [Carmelo] went there, he won a national championship there.

So me having an opportunity to think that I could go there and follow in his footsteps, it’s a great feeling,’’ admitted the 16-year-old.

Surely, it’s a great feeling for his 10x All-Star father as well. The New York Knicks legend has personally assumed the role of coaching and training his son, and it’s evident that his hard work has paid off. Kiyan has shown remarkable growth and proficiency in the sport.

Furthermore, he faces the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead with confidence and fearlessness.

Kiyan possesses a strong sense of self-worth and is diligently putting in the effort to demonstrate his abilities on the basketball court. Previously, in an interview, he shared, “College coaches, I feel like they’re not going to offer you a scholarship because of who you are,’’ he added, “They actually see potential in me.’’

In addition to the enticing offer he’s received, there are several other universities vying for his commitment.

This list includes Florida State, Seton Hall, Pittsburgh, Michigan, and Tennessee, among others. Furthermore, he had already planned another visit to Florida State.
