Michael Jordan is one of the richest stars in NBA history, but he doesn’t give out his money just like that. The Chicago Bulls legend needs a few reasons that are good enough for him to hand out gestures. There are several instances described by a few NBA legends that have thrown light on this character of the 6-time champion. Well, we are here back again with an unearthed story from Houston Rockets legend Kenny Smith on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show.

Who is not a fan of the Jordans? The dashing sneakers are a dream for anyone, but Kenny Smith’s daughter wanted to buy them for a different reason. After finding out that Jordan is one of her dad’s friends, 7-year-old Kayla Smith wanted to support him by buying his sneakers. The ‘Inside the NBA’ host shared, “We’re buying sneakers…She’s like, ‘Why aren’t we supporting him[Jordan] and buying his sneakers?'”

To appreciate his thoughtful daughter, Smith decided to text Jordan and let him know about this incident. However, it was in a motive to get a few boxes of free sneakers from the 5-time MVP. Smith shared, “I’m thinking he’s gonna go, ‘Well, you know what, just don’t worry, I’m going to send you boxes'”, but instead Jordan replied, “Yeah she’s smart, you should”. Typical MJ!

Jordan has made a lot of notable donations and contributions to the people of America, and especially Chicago. However, he does not make it a habit to hand out money to a homeless man. Anyhow, Barkley is different. He can’t help but give out a few pennies to someone in need. Jordan did not like it. The Sixers legend said Jordan would not allow him to tip, or give a few pennies to the homeless.

Barkley shared in an interview, “Oh yeah, [Jordan is] cheap. I always give homeless people money and he will always slap my hand [and tell me], ‘If they can ask you for spare change, they can say, ‘Welcome to McDonald’s, can I help you, please?”

Clearly, the Bulls icon was not a fan of handouts. Sadly, it led Barkley to call him cheap. Well, looks like Kenny Smith is now hinting at something similar. What are your thoughts on this?
