The TNT crew is never shy of blasting one of their own. Due to their easygoing chemistry, no topic is off limits when dissing each other. That is how Charles Barkley found misdemeanors from his past as the center of attention recently. The trio of Ernie Johnson, Kenny “The Jet” Smith, and Shaquille O’Neal left no stone unturned while mocking their colleague. While his past might come as a surprise to some, the funny nature with which they roasted Chuck was none too surprising.
It was the Philadelphia 76ers legend who brought up the topic on his own. “Unfortunately, I’ve been arrested a couple of times.” Immediately, his longtime friend Shaq was ready to provide the exact number – 5. Conceding, Chuck would continue.
“Five. And you have to call somebody but you have to call collect. And because it’s our answering machine, no one was there to accept the call, that’s hilarious.” Soon, after a promotion for the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League game, the crew would paint each member as a member of the squad.

You know how Hollywood is.” When the others mentioned their squeaky clean record with the law, Barkley had to clear the air about his name. “I was always acquitted, just for the record. I never did time.”

“You did time in Phoenix, bro. I had to cover for you,” recalled 2x NBA champion, ‘The Jet’. Even Ernie Johnson knew of the incident as he had to record an interview with the 1993 NBA MVP. What did Sir Charles have to say for himself?
Sheepishly, the Chuckster had to admit, “Kinda slipped my mind.” As the crew exploded into laughter at his admission, O’Neal was in shock. “You did interviews from jail?” But then, Shaq found a funnier target with the Suicide Squad reference.
“Did you have to wear pink?” As Barkley had to embarrassingly tell him to “stop it”, the mental image was too hard to ignore. Despite his previous instances of indecency, Chuck has become one of the more upstanding citizens in recent years.

Just don’t call him by that Round Mound of Rebound nickname again. Or, he might revert back to his, as Shaquille O’Neal would say, delinquent days.
