Even though they spent years together on the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan and Jerry Krause did not have a good relationship with each other. However, this didn’t stop Krause from giving his honest opinion on Jordan. Once, when Philadelphia 76ers legend Charles Barkley was beefing with LeBron James over the players’ and organization’s involvement in the player movement in the NBA, Jerry Krause took Michael Jordan’s side to show how the Chicago Bulls legend was different from LeBron James.
The Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA championship in 2016. However, the team had its ups and downs the following season. So, LeBron James expressed his frustration with the organization as he pressured them to add another ball handler to the team in January. However, according to SLAM, Charles Barkley did not appreciate LeBron’s comments. Over the next few weeks, the two went back and forth. However, this ultimately brought out the truth about Michael Jordan out of nowhere.
“I’ll say this about him, he never came to me and asked for other players. He never came to me and asked me to draft a player. He never came to me to ask me to trade for a player. Never once did that happen. Part of it was he thought he was so darn good he thought he could win without them, I’m sure of that,” said Jerry Krause while talking to ESPN insider Adrian Worjanowski on the Vertical Podcast.

It is safe to say that Michael Jordan and Jerry Krause were not fond of each other. Though while Jordan emphasized the importance of players, Krause focused more on the organization than a player’s individual contribution. But this did not mean that Krause would intentionally lie about Jordan.
Michael Jordan always allowed the organization to do its part and worked with whatever he had. However, the Bulls as an organization were doing everything in their power to build the best roster around the best player, unlike how the Cavaliers handled things with LeBron James.

Michael Jordan’s rocky relationship with Jerry Krause
Although Krause was happy that Jordan let him do whatever the organization wanted, Jordan was still not very kind to Krause. Michael Jordan had had issues with Krause since his first year with the Chicago Bulls. One of the first trades that Krause made was trading away Jordan’s best friend from the team.
