Despite staying at the play-in spot, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors are still the favorites to make it to the playoffs. The two Western Conference teams are set to face each other once again tomorrow, and Charles Barkley might not be too excited about it. In fact, he is not bothered about either of the sides because of their standings. However, the media coverage on the two teams has not changed and Barkley took a jab at other networks for giving them too much attention. Well, this caught the attention of a famous ESPN analyst.

Kendrick Perkins slammed Barkley through his Twitter, Everything that come outta Charles Barkley mouth ain’t the Gospel…and we are going to continue to talk about the Lebron and Steph Curry because they’ve earned that!!! Carry the hell on.” What did Barkley say that triggered the 2008 champion?

The Philadelphia 76ers icon believes the Warriors and the Lakers get media attention only because Stephen Curry and LeBron James are on the respective teams. The Chuckster termed the analysts of other networks as “idiots” for having hopes for the play-in teams. Perkins and his co-hosts on ESPN have spoken about the chances of the Lakers and the Warriors making it to the playoffs. So Barkley’s indirect jab triggered Perkins, which led to the above wrath.

Notably, Perkins did not vent out his frustration just through a tweet. He shared it in an interview as well!

Addressing Charles Barkley’s comments, Perkins shares why LBJ and Curry should get media coverage!

Before the tweet, Perkins had a few words to say in his appearance on the ‘Pat McAfee show’. The 2008 champion shared, “Charles Barkley is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. He has done a hell of a job in the media world and I respect him like crazy, but here’s the thing…they [Lakers] have LeBron James, who is arguably the greatest to ever touch the damn basketball, and you have Steph Curry, who is a generation talent. We have to appreciate them. When both of those guys are gone, what else are we gonna talk about.”

The Boston Celtics icon also believes both teams have a genuine chance to make it to the playoffs. He pointed out that both the Warriors and the Lakers are at least three games above .500, which is a good sign. It is just the competitive Western Conference that has led to this volatile season from Curry and James. While Perkins still has some belief, Barkley has clearly already chosen another path.
