Carmelo Anthony is partnering up with comedian The Kid Mero to begin his new podcast called 7 PM in Brooklyn. As the first episode is set to be released on the 7th of December, a small teaser of the episode was posted on the podcast’s Twitter page.
In the video, Mero asked Carmelo if he received any calls from any team while he was contemplating his decision to retire from the NBA. Carmelo replied that he got calls from China and from the New Orleans Pelicans.
China is always notorious for trying to poach retired NBA legends or NBA players who are in the twilight of their careers. But receiving the call from the Pelicans is certainly interesting. But Carmelo rejected both the offers and announced his retirement.
While speaking about the offers, he said, “The Pelicans called. That would have been that jersey. Hide that, hide that (while showing an edited picture of him in a Pelicans jersey).”
