Larsa Pippen is a globetrotting star who has experienced her fair share of cities and their culture. In the latest episode of her podcast, Separation Anxiety, which she hosts with her boyfriend, Marcus Jordan, she took the rose-tinted glasses off some overrated cities.
Pippen and Jordan were discussing how the kids of today’s NBA stars have to deal with more scrutiny on social media, where the latter made a connection between the fame culture and certain cities. In the process, the ex-wife of NBA legend Scottie Pippen also praised Michael Jordan‘s once-home and one of the most populous cities in the country.

Marcus Jordan and Larsa Pippen were having a discussion on NBA players and their children’s privileges when the latter decided to drop a bombshell. The 49-year-old revealed that said that it’s hard to escape the public eye in cities like Los Angeles, Miami, and New York when you’re the kid of a famous athlete.
The Real Housewives of Miami star is intimately familiar with the Magic City’s culture and has experienced the same in LA and New York. But interestingly, her work and lifestyle have taken her all over the country and she’s noticed how Chicago differs from the rest.
Quickly after her outburst, Larsa praised the people of Chicago and their humility. “The culture in Chicago is definitely more low-key,” she said in the episode. “You could be super successful in Chicago and you would never know because people there don’t need to show their success.”
Marcus was quick to agree. He was born in the Windy City in 1990 and grew up there when his dad, the great Michael Jordan, played for the Chicago Bulls. MJ also had a short stint playing minor-league baseball with the Chicago White Sox. His son is well-versed in the culture of Chicago and it helped him live a private life.
Pippen inherited her parents’ dislike for “flashy” things. That’s why she has immense respect for Chicago.
Her statement resonated with Marcus and Chi-Town lovers. Perhaps she would make a permanent move to her beau’s hometown?

Marcus Jordan opens up about his childhood
Michael Jordan has kept his family and personal life out of the media. He earlier recalled being able to go around to parties and not getting recognized. That’s a “luxury” he says other star NBA kids didn’t have.
Marcus empathized with the kids’ publicity, although he had a relatively private childhood compared to what they were growing up in. When Larsa said that only the good things matter in Chicago, Jordan could relate.
