Caitlin Clark is making buzz among the netizens and experts because of her latest offer. Rapper and Big3 co-founder Ice Cube reportedly offered the 22-year-old $5 million to join his league. NBA veterans and previously Jaylen Brown has also played in the league. While the Iowa Hawkeyes player is currently focused on leading the team toward victory in the 2024 NCAA tournament, the part of brainstorming is done by basketball enthusiasts and veterans.

Many have voiced their opinion on which way Clark should move forward next. The latest one to join the list is Los Angeles Lakers legend Lamar Odom. Talking about Clark joining the 2024 WNBA draft, Odom said that the player will end up losing a big offer. “Caitlin Clark she’ll probably lose money when she goes to WNBA,” Odom said in The Bootleg Kev Podcast.

However, the crew also discussed how she would be able to make money with the sneakers deal. Clark has a partnership deal with Nike because of the NIL ruling. As soon as she steps into the WNBA, it’s likely she will have more lucrative deals to look forward to.

Not just the Los Angeles Lakers legend, but many have pointed out the stark difference between the $5 million which is offered by the Big3 league and the WNBA salary. Such a big offer was not extended to any player in the WNBA till now. However, with Clark breaking all the previous records, we cannot be sure anymore.

Paul Pierce is skeptical about the $5 million offer

And should Clark indeed secure the $5 million offer or its equivalent in the WNBA, she will pave the way for future players, opening doors of opportunities. As for now, she said, “I have other people that deal with it. They haven’t said a word to me about it. And, my main focus is on this team and helping us find a way to beat Colorado and hopefully win another one after that.”

On the other hand, NBA veteran Paul Pierce expressed his doubt on the matter. While the Clark has been phenomenal so far, the deal is “cap” in Pierce’s opinion. As Odom stated, Pierce also mentioned the fact about WNBA’s salary and said, “That’s cap. They not giving nobody five million to play BIG 3.” He added, “You can’t pay her more than Aja Wilson.”
