34 years after Shaquille O’Neal made it to the All-American team, his 17-year-old daughter Me’arah has brought the honors back once again. This is something that even Shaqir O’Neal or Shareef O’Neal were not blessed with in their basketball careers. Shaq has been an inspiration for the youngster to choose basketball, but of late she has been equally grateful to her stepdad, Keion Henderson, who has played a part in her success.

The famous pastor tied the knot with Shaunie Henderson in May 2022, but he has been a helping hand to Me’arah for a longer time. Henderson shared on his Instagram, “I’m so proud of you @mearahoneal_”, to which the 17-year-old showed gratitude with some emotional words. Me’arah shared in her story“My guy foreal…Words can’t say how grateful I am to have him as a bonus dad.” This must mean the world to Henderson.

Although he is late to the family, he has found his way to become a ‘bonus dad’ in a very short span. But he has put in the effort for it. At the end of the day, Me’arah is blessed here, with two amazing fathers ready to do anything for her. This was indeed a wholesome exchange between Henderson and Me’arah.

ESPNW’s top 100 list features all the selected players for the annual game. Surprisingly, there was another former NBA veteran’s daughter who made it to the list. Mackenly Randolph, daughter of former Memphis Grizzlies veteran Zach Randolph, has made it to the All-American game too. The 18-year-old is a five-star forward, and she has not committed to a college yet. Me’arah on the other hand, represents the Florida Gators.

Both the above-mentioned youngsters will be playing for Team West along with each other. Among a few other notable players, there is Sarah Strong, who is ranked number 1 in ESPN’s top 100 list. Shaq was the All-American MVP in 1989. Me’arah has a chance at it, but unlike Shaq, she is not the best player on the roster. Shaq was expected to win the MVP. Me’arah is 6’4, one of the tallest on the roster, which gives her a chance to recreate what her father did.
