The high school Shaquille O’Neal was as dominant as the professional one. It was evident when he mentioned that he had only suffered one defeat during his two-year high school basketball career. As a 4x NBA champion turned analyst now, Shaq continues to look out for other young talent in the high school circuit.

The last time the team won a championship title was in 1996. After all these years, the Cherokee high school team finally made it to the championships, and that too in a historic manner. Their opponents, East Columbus are one of the best teams. And they implemented different strategies to change the trajectory of the game.

It was clearly too much for their opponents as the Cherokee stuck to their powerful display. The team gave fewer chances to East Columbus to catch up as they notched up 20-0. The two star players Joscelyn Stamper and Dvdaya Swimmer were impressive in the game. Stamper said, “It’s just amazing the support that we have. They make every court that we step onto a home-court advantage, whether it be we’re one hour away or three hours away. They’d be proud of us, win or lose, and it’s an amazing feeling.”

Speaking of the team’s collective efforts and the player’s brilliance and hard work, Braves coach Ann Gardner said, “Out of my 30-plus years of coaching, this is probably the best team I’ve ever coached. They just do everything, the little things that put them over the top. And I could not ask for a better group.”
