In 1993, the Chicago Bulls were en route to winning their third championship in a row. After making easy work of all the teams in the eastern conference, the Bulls made it to the finals. This is where they met the Phoenix Suns. The Suns had the best record in the league and were spearheaded by 30-year-old Charles Barkley.

In a recent video that surfaced online of players talking about the greatness of Charles Barkley, Michael Jordan is seen saying “That year, he was the best player in the league“. Jordan added the Bulls were scared to face the Suns. This was because the Suns actually thought they had a chance to win it all.

The series was led by the Bulls 3-2, and game 6 was in Chicago. John Paxson scored a three at the end of the match to give the Bulls the lead and eventually win the match and the championship. Jordan said it was the reason they won. If the game had gone back to Phoenix, then it would have been likely that things could have been different.

Jordan continues his praise for Charles Barkley and says that there have not been many people like him. To impact the game to that extent with his stature was not normal. But their friendship didn’t last long, as the two had a major fallout in 2012.

Jordan didn’t like Barkley’s comments

Micahel Jordan’s time with the Charlotte Hornets is not viewed as a successful venture. Media criticized him for the moves he made during his time in management with the Hornets in 2012. Along with this, Charles Barkley also said on TV that MJ was not doing a good job as the man in the back.

This didn’t sit well with MJ, who called Barkley and lashed out at him. Barkley revealed in an interview from seven months ago that Jordan called him after the segment had aired. He was mad and disappointed at Barkley for his comments. To everything Barkley said to Jordan, Barkley responded that he was just doing his job. According to Barkley, they have not spoken to each other since then.
