Tumultuous applause emerged as Noah Lyles won the 100m and 200m at the World Athletics 2023 championship. After Tyson Gay’s historic win in 2007, Lyles became the second American to accomplish a double win. While the 26-year-old might not have been able to break the fastest man, Usain Bolt’s record, he has earned everyone love and praise. Amid the media critics, the American athlete received the highest order of praise from NBA legend Magic Johnson.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the 5-time NBA champion sent out a congratulatory message to Lyles. Let’s take a look at his message for the athlete.

However, as an active Twitter user, he has managed to capture the attention of the entire sports world and beyond, whether it is his inspirational words or congratulatory message.

Recently joining the erupting cheers and celebrations for Lyles, Johnson took to his Twitter to congratulate the athlete. He wrote, “Congratulations to LylesNoah for pulling out the double and taking home Gold in the men’s 200M! Another dominating performance!”

This is not the first time that the legend took some time out to encourage the hard-working young athletes. Previously, he sent a heart-warming message to female athlete Anna Hall.

The stakes were quite high with Lyles aiming to break Bolts’s record this year. While he came quite close to Bolts’s records, he was not able to beat him. However, Lyles has his mind set on recreating a new record.
