Carmelo Anthony has made only a few public appearances post retirement, but all of it has been hot news for the media. His recent New York visit earned him an unexpected meet-up with a WWE legend. It wasn’t as iconic as his meet up with John Cena, but fans are certainly not complaining.

Well, nearly 2 years ago, a resurfaced image of Melo and Cena was doing the rounds online. Interestingly enough, it caught the eye of the 2003 NCAA champion himself. Fans were delighted to see Anthony show off his WWE knowledge.

It’s safe to say, that the New York Knicks legend’s second favorite sport must be wrestling. The 39-year-old even joined hands with a few WWE executives a few months back, as a part of a huge investment. We will come back to that later, but it looks like Carmelo Anthony has the attention of executives and wrestlers alike.

A fan captured the moment when “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes ran into Carmelo Anthony in New York recently. While Rhodes was in a dashing formal look, Anthony did not want to give up on his cool and casual drip, donning sunglasses indoors for extra style.

2023 has been a great year for Rhodes so far. He even won the Royal Rumble this year. Meeting Melo in New York will only add to the festivities for the wrestler. Of course, it’s unlikely that this WWE-NBA crossover will be as iconic as one from 18 years ago.

During his time with the Denver Nuggets, Anthony met WWE icon John Cena in 2005. The two showcased some impressive hip-hop drip, that was loved by the sports buffs. In 2022, Anthony made a brilliant comment about it as well, while revisiting the moment online.

The 2013 scoring champion replied to his picture with John Cena saying, “I only see me though?”. That might be the best representation of ‘You can’t see me’.

Who is the next wrestling icon that Anthony will meet? While that might take some time, let’s take a look into the NBA legend’s surprising collaboration with a few WWE executives.

9 months back, Carmelo Anthony created an exorbitant $750 million equity fund with former WWE presidents, George Barrios and Michael Wilson. Although this collaboration sounded a bit odd, their goal is impressive.

Anthony revealed that the ‘ Isos7 Growth Equity’, will look forward to investing in “businesses, teams, leagues, sports betting, and adjacent companies that are profitable or have a short-term path to profitability.”

When asked why he decided to collaborate with the WWE presidents, Anthony shared, “There are a lot of similarities in how we think, how we operate and what we want to accomplish.” There haven’t been many updates about this collaboration, yet it sounds promising

Anyhow, what’s to be noted is that Anthony’s love for WWE is always sky-high. What are your thoughts on the above story?
