Injuries are a part of every athlete’s career. However, when you get injured by Shaquille O’Neal, hell might break loose. The 7ft, 325lbs monster from the Los Angeles Lakers was not the one to mess with. Even a slight elbow from him might give you a concussion. Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson was one of the few, who fell prey to getting injured by Shaq. AI joined Big Diesel for his podcast and he took this as a perfect chance to call him out.

Shaq revealed that he was forced to foul Iverson one time in the Finals. Sadly, the physical impact was enough to sideline Iverson for a few months. The 2001 MVP shared, “This dude right here gave me the worst injury I had in my career…I was coming down full speed and you tried to get in front of me and your knee hit me in my thigh. Thigh bruise. I was out like two months.”

Shaq’s knee might be the size of a basketball. Imagine taking a charge from the 4x champion. Well, this was clearly one of Iverson’s nightmares. However, this was just very funny for the 7ft giant. He shared, “Man up, Allen Iverson. Man up!” Iverson added that he had a picture of the bruise on his phone and that he wanted to post it on social media.

The 2001 MVP was not even annoyed that Shaq injured him. Iverson said, “The worst part is you going to hurt me and then help me up.” Poor Shaq tried to reduce the remorse. Clearly, it did not help. He also mocked Iverson in the podcast for calling him out and suggested using ‘Icy Hot’.

How did Shaquille O’Neal brilliantly promote his partnership with a pain relief brand?

This is exactly why we call Shaq a business genius. He did mock Iverson but he also promoted ‘Icy Hot’, a pain relief product which he has endorsed for quite some time now. They partnered back in 2021 and ever since the 2000 MVP has displayed or spoken about it whenever possible.

You might have seen advertisements of Shaq using ‘Icy Hot’ in the commercial breaks of NBA games. This time, Iverson created an opportunity for it and the LA icon used it brilliantly. The Sixers legend is getting to know more of Shaq’s business acumen as the two have teamed up for Reebok now.
