Recently a Michael Jordan jersey was sold for $3,030,000. MJ’s jersey from the 1992 Summer Olympics went for a record price in a 24-hour dedicated auction. In case you missed out on that one, there’s a plethora of memorabilia up for auction from Karl Malone that you can still get your hands on.
The NBA veteran has listed out several items including his 1996-97 MVP trophy and the 1993 NBA All-Star game MVP award. Popular online marketplace Goldin is currently auctioning all the items that Malone has put up for sale.
Hoop fans have always been interested in collecting such pieces of history. This is why, any time an auction for something related to the basketball world comes up, it creates a massive buzz. This often means that the items listed are going to get bigger bids in the auction, but it’s all in the name of love for the game. It sure seems like Malone is in a festive mood, based on the things he has put up for auction in association with Goldin.

Paying over $3 million for a jersey sounds outrageous, but such is the love and passion for basketball and MJ. His 1992 Summer Olympics jersey was recently sold for over $3 million. The complete set included a signed jersey and shoes. The name of the winner of that auction wasn’t revealed. Now the number attached to this auction is surely massive, but it pales in comparison to another piece of Jordan memorabilia that was sold last year.
Last September Sotheby’s sold an MJ jersey that he wore during Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz. The jersey was sold for a record $10.1 million. Another Jordan memorabilia that fetched a massive sum in the auction was a game-worn pair of Jordans that were sold for $420,000.
