Michael Jordan has shied from the media, and he’s kept his family out of it too. Yet Marcus Jordan and his siblings have experienced what it feels like to have a famous dad. And that’s why Marcus relates to Bronny James and Shareef O’Neal in a way.
LeBron James’ son joined Shaquille O’Neal’s son for a night on the town recently. However, their attempt to enter an LA nightclub, The Poppy, failed. The club was the venue for rap music trendsetter, Saweetie’s 30th birthday. It was an adult-only event and Bronny is only 18.

Marcus Jordan considers it a privilege that his parents were very private individuals and he had a private upbringing. But the rise of technology and social media has not left that privilege to the kids of today’s NBA athletes.

NBA kids today don’t necessarily have that luxury,” he said on the podcast. He further added that wherever Bronny goes, cameras follow. He brought up the party incident and recalled when he was a teen trying to get into the hottest parties in town.
Marcus is familiar with trying to balance anonymity with public situations. Marcus was able to get away with it before the era of smartphones. He apparently felt a bit of empathy for Bronny and Shareef for the situation they were in.
